Bird Kingdom • Niagara Falls, Canada

Bird Kingdom is the world’s largest free-flying Indoor aviary. There are over 400 tropical birds and exotic animals to admire as you stroll throughout the multi-level rainforest. Species, some rare and endangered, abound at every turn: Bearded Dragons; Chinese Painted Quails; Java Sparrows; Scarlet Ibis; and Yellow-Naped Amazons, to name a few. The path begins at the aviary’s top level, then follows behind the magnificent waterfall down to the jungle floor. Lush landscaping, flowers, and plants evoke a tropical paradise at every turn. This world class attraction is only a 5 minute walk from Niagara Falls!

In 1958, the building housed Niagara Falls Museum; famous for its world-renowned collection of Egyptian artifacts. Amazingly, it was discovered that it had been home to the actual mummy of King Rameses I for over 140 years. The building was bought in 2000 and extensively renovated to add an additional 50,000 square feet to create the aviary. Bird Kingdom has been honored with the Heritage Award for maintaining the original architectural style of the historic building.

Lorikeet Landing is a fun-filled, unforgettable experience where you feed the playful lorikeet birds. Rainbow Lorikeets are bright and colorful, medium-sized parrots, native to the Eastern Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
