Crocodile Lake National Wildlife Refuge • Key Largo

The American Crocodile is considered a threatened species in the United States and the Crocodile Lake National Wildlife Refuge was originally created to protect this Florida native species. Although not a reptile you would want to come face to face with in the wild, it’s an interesting one nonetheless.  At the refuge you can watch them in their natural habitat, learn the story behind their existence and why it is important to protect this reptile that can grow to lengths of twenty feet.  Crocodile Lake offers an experience unique to the Florida Keys, providing a truly one-of-a-kind memory.
