Louisa May Alcott Orchard House • Concord, Massachusetts

The Louisa May Alcott Orchard House is most noted for being the place Louisa wrote and set Little Women in 1868. The noble home has a rich history stretching back two centuries before the beloved story, and more than 100 years of life as a historic site opened to the public.

The family was famous, yet they were flawed. They believed in the power of unconditional love. The Alcott’s impacted literature, education, philosophy, art, and reforms of many kinds. With Summer programs for youngsters, an Emmy award-winning documentary, writing contests for high school-aged students, and more, the museum is a must-see when visiting the area.
