These famous bronze ducklings were designed by local artist Nancy Schön and can be found in Boston’s Public Garden, near the corner of Beacon and Charles Street. Visiting Mrs. Mallard and her eight ducklings is one of the top Boston kid’s activities for the under 8-set, but people of all ages are in love with these adorable statues.
On Duckling Day, the most adorable Boston tradition continues as children parade through the Boston Common and Public Garden dressed like ducklings!
The ducklings honor Robert McCloskey’s classic children’s book about the duck family making their home in Boston’s Public Garden. This Victorian-era garden also offers 15-minute swan boat rides in a beautiful lagoon, an attraction that has delighted visitors since 1877, and formal plantings that change with the seasons features specimens trees from around the world.
