Dynamic duo Chef Adam Evans and Suzanne Humphries Evans open ASO – Automatic Seafood and Oysters in Birmingham, AL. The restaurant, named for the building’s past life as the Automatic Sprinkler Corporation manufacturing facility, is located in the up-and-coming Lakeview neighborhood of Birmingham (close to Downtown, Avondale, Pepper Place, and Forest Park). The 5,000-square-foot restaurant seats 140 guests indoors, 40 guests outdoors, and 22 guests at the bar. A private dining room, perfect for private events, holds up to 30 guests and includes a private view of the chef’s counter and kitchen.
Evans worked directly with local vendors, markets, and fisheries. His menu is focused on high-quality seafood primarily sourced from the Gulf of Mexico as well as Southern and Eastern coastlines. His bounty goes beyond fresh-caught sardines, spiny lobsters, octopus, & Alabama oysters.
