Yaddo Gardens • Saratoga Springs, NY

One of Saratoga’s most beloved attractions draws over 50,000 visitors annually, Yaddo Gardens once belonged to philanthropists Spencer and Katrina Trask. After the tragic losses of all four children, the couple gifted their fortune and estate, establishing a residency program for all types of artists.

To this day, since 1912, the Yaddo Medal, crafted by Tiffany and Company, is awarded to a student graduating from Saratoga Springs High School who demonstrates academic achievement and character. Yaddo’s mission is to “nurture the creative process by providing an opportunity for artists to work without interruption in a supportive environment.” The gardens are open to the public from dawn to dusk, with the exception of Traverse Day during racing season. Ghost tours are offered in the month of October.
