On the night of April 18th, 1775, Paul Revere – a silversmith, patriot, business man, and entrepreneur, left his home in Boston’s North End, setting out on a journey known as the “Midnight Ride of Paul Revere,” one that would ultimately make him an American legend. Today that house still stands, a national historic landmark.
Built around 1680, it’s downtown Boston’s oldest building and one of the few remaining 17th-century dwellings in a large urban area of the United States. In April 1908, Paul Revere House opened to the public – one of the earliest historic house museums in the nation. Revere House tours are self-guided, complemented by illustrated text panels and museum interpreters.
