Key West Lighthouse Museum • Key West

For those interested in maritime history, a trip to the Key West Lighthouse is an absolute must.  The lighthouse, necessary for aiding safe arrival for commercial and military vessels in the early 1800s, dates back to 1848.

It was first operated by a woman, a unique historical fact in and of itself.  The history of the keeper’s quarters, the lighthouse and the role it played in early Key West history can be explored while visiting this historic property. Interesting for all ages!
