Belmont Mansion • Nashville

Built by Joseph and Adelicia Acklen in 1853 as an escape from everyday life, this Italian Villa and its surrounding estate in the antebellum South have stood as a historic cornerstone of Tennessee antiquity and style.  Less than a decade after its construction, Belmont Mansion received Union Army soldiers and was one of three notable buildings which helped impact the Battle of Nashville.  If you arrive during the Fall season, stop by on Tuesdays in September for a lecture series presented by the Tennessee Historical Society and step through history to appreciate the preservation and restoration of various art and architectural projects.
