Saratoga History Museum and Canfield Casino • Saratoga Springs, NY

The Saratoga History Museum and Canfield Casino is one of the Spa City’s most treasured landmarks. It was built as a gambling casino by Irish heavyweight champion John Morrissey, under the name Saratoga Club House. The establishment drew wealthy, prominent visitors from all corners of the globe.

Today the museum’s focus is concentrated on the city, presenting both on-going and rotating exhibits throughout three massive floors inside the building. It fosters public education by chronicling the back-stories of Saratoga Springs. It is designated a National Historic Landmark, caring for 15,000 artifacts and boasts a photographic archive of some 325,000 local images.
