National Museum of Coaches • Lisbon

The National Museum of Coaches is educational and entertaining on several levels – the historical element, the architectural designs, and the development of sculpture and gilding through the years. The museum offers a new area Library and Archives area as well as Museum Square, an outdoor space dedicated to cultural and leisure activities.

The Museum features vehicles ranging from the 17th century coach of King Philip II to the 19th century carriages. Included in the collection are the famous coaches used in the Embassy sent by King João V to Pope Clement XI. It’s recognized as the best in the world!
