Core is the debut restaurant of Clare Smyth, the first and only female chef to have a restaurant with 3-Michelin stars in the UK. She received the “World’s Best Female Chef Award” in 2018. She worked as Chef Patron with Gordon Ramsay at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London, and with Alain Ducasse at Louis XV in Monaco.
This elegant restaurant in Notting Hill is passionate about British food, focusing on natural, sustainable ingredients sourced from the UK’s dedicated farmers and food producers. Core Classics feature Isle of Mull Scallop Tartare in sea vegetable consommé; Roasted Monkfish with Morecambe Bay shrimps and Swiss chard in brown butter; and Duck and Red Grapes with thyme honey.
British art hangs on its walls; the tables are built with wood from Northern Ireland and the bone china is produced a 300-year-old UK company that still makes everything by hand.
