Ham Yard Hotel • Soho, London

Located in the midst of Soho and central theatre area, the Ham Yard is surrounded by quirky bars, shops and cafés typical of Soho, yet it’s just a block from Mayfair’s array of luxury shops. Ham Yard was previously a deserted ¾-acre site, now it’s transformed into a new village connecting to Great Windmill and Denman Streets via a tree-lined public walkway.

There are 91 bedrooms and suites, each individually designed by Kit Kemp in her award-winning, modern British style. Her innovative mix of color, pattern, texture and art is well known in the hotel world, and is showcased here. Each room is sized generously, featuring floor-to ceiling windows overlooking the leafy courtyard.

The hotel has a verdant rooftop garden and bar with herbs and beehives, and a bronze sculpture centerpiece by Tony Cragg. It also features a drawing room and library, spa and gym, theatre, and a bowling alley. The Ham Yard Restaurant’s menu frequently changes, based on seasonal ingredients and produce.

The Bar offers small plates, cocktails, and a selected wine list. Alongside the hotel’s bedrooms and suites, there are 24 apartments, 13 independent stores, and a restaurant and bar with outdoor dining.
