The MBTA • Boston

The MBTA is Boston’s public transportation system, a great way to get around the city, cheaply and easily. The “T” refers to the subway, which runs through Boston, into Cambridge, even nearby suburbs, providing access to attractions that can be found throughout the city. You can buy “Charlie Tickets” for single or multiple subway rides at vending machines located at almost every station. When your ticket runs low, just add value at a machine. The cards are free to get and you can load amounts of your choosing. It’s one of the best ways to get around the area, helping avoid parking fees and the headaches of a rush-hour commute.
