The Mandarin Oriental Miami Hotel has been a recipient of the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award and Conde Nast Traveler’s “Gold List” Award as “One of the World’s Best Places to Stay.” Guests of the luxe Five-Star Mandarin Oriental, Miami Hotel feel as if they’re in their own private sanctuary. Located on Brickell Key across the Brickell Bay Bridge from Downtown Miami’s bustling Brickell area, it has a “get-away-from-it-all” vibe.

Its fan shape is an architectural element intended to evoke the brand’s logo. 326 guest rooms include 31 suites, each with a water view and outdoor balconies. Marble bathrooms feature both a deep soaking tub and a walk-in shower; bedrooms offer plush bed and linens. The Oriental Penthouse Suite boasts a living room with a working fireplace (for those cold Miami nights), a large outdoor terrace, a piano, and a media room with 65-inch Bang & Olufsen Plasma TV with surround-sound.

Dining options are Yaku by La Mar, a waterfront lounge offering Peruvian-inspired punch cocktails and bar bites, the MO Bar  + Lounge with fantastic cocktails and bites, and the Oasis Pool Café, featuring alfresco dining. The Spa is a tri-level sanctuary featuring innovative, restorative treatments, relaxation lounges, sauna and steam room, with a state-of-the-art fitness center.

Best bet: the $95 all-you-can-eat-and-drink brunch at La Mar by Gastón Acurio, one of the city’s best restaurants, which features a ceviche and tapas bar celebrating the famed chef’s Peruvian cuisine.
