Azur Restaurant • Key West

Azur Restaurant is a must-dining experience in historic old town Key West. Located at the corner of Grinnell & Fleming Streets, in the Eden House, this venue offers indoor & outdoor seating; a cozy ‘azure’ indoor space as well as shaded patio tables. The restaurant is open for brunch (consider their Key lime pie French toast or one their specialty Benedicts) and dinner.

Owner/Executive Chef Michael Mossi grew up in the kitchens of his Italian and Hungarian grandmothers who introduced him to a passion for food. He recently pulled off an impeccable dinner on my recent visit with family, Post-Covid; amid a shortage of staff.

We ordered appetizers of Pulpo, charred octopus spiced with Za’atar and hints of garlic; Beef Carpaccio drizzled with truffle oil; Steamed Clams & Chorizo in an aromatic wine broth.

Our mains: Yellowtail Snapper, topped with petite shrimp, Yukon potatoes, capers, lemon-butter sauce; Confit of Duck, amid wild mushrooms, caramelized Cippolini, sweet peas, champagne vinaigrette; truffled Toasted Gnocchi with pine nuts; and Angus Rib Eye aside cured tomatoes, Kalamatas, capers, salsa verde. Desserts of Tiramisu and chocolate decadence were the perfect finale.

* Editor’s Note: By Nancy Radlauer, Editor.InboundMagazine@gmail.com; I loved the cuisine at Azur; it’s a wonderful, fine-dining experience and I look forward to a return visit.
