Kudos to Conch Republic Seafood Company in Key West… it has the right location, great service and fresh seafood. Its location, originally Historic Key West Bight, has its own interesting history dating back to the 1890’s “sponging” industry; by the early 1900’s, Key West was considered the Sponge Capital of the Country. Today’s docks have replaced the large, wide sponge market docks of that era.
There is live entertainment, unbelievable tropical drinks and the fabulous seafood. Cracked Conch, Stone Crab Platters, Smoked Fish Dip, and locally caught Mahi and Snapper are only a few of the local favorites. The venue is available for private gatherings and weddings. There’s an on-site logo shop with spices and clothing.
