The Clove Club was voted as one of the “World’s Best Restaurants 2019” (No. 27). Scottish chef Isaac McHale’s modern British cuisine utilizes fresh, seasonal produce from all over the UK. McHale’s colleagues, Daniel Willis and Johnny Smith, oversee the dining room; after running an experimental supper club they opened Clove Club together in 2013.
The signature dish, a raw Orkney Scallop from Scotland’s Orkney Islands, with Perigord truffle, hazelnut, and mandarin; and the “Parten Bree” Scottish Spider Crab Hot Pot, inspired by a traditional Scottish soup, are among the menu’s most popular items. There’s a full tasting menu on offer, and a shorter version with five courses.
The wine list offers wines from both old and new world regions, focusing on artisanal growers. Wine pairings are offered, as well as an ambient tea pairing. The relaxed East London restaurant is set within the historic Shoreditch Town Hall.
