Many people visiting New Orleans know that the French Quarter is a must-see, but the Warehouse District (now known as the Warehouse Arts District) has gathered massive appeal. Originally established in the 19th century as the Warehouse District for commerce and trade, the area has evolved since. Today it is characterized by fine dining restaurants, music venues, world-class shopping, and its eclectic mix of art galleries and museums, such as the National World War II Museum, Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the Contemporary Arts Center. Even if you’re not an art aficionado the Warehouse Arts District is well worth seeing and experiencing.
