Brag Kilgore’s Alter restaurant in Wynwood is always packed, and there’s no surprise there. Kilgore won the 2018 James Beard Best Chef Award.
The casual, chef-driven restaurant offers tasting menus only, with a choice among five or seven courses, or a special Chef’s Tasting. Diners come back often for the ever-changing menus. The cuisine focuses on responsibly-sourced Florida ingredients.
A favorite is the Smoked Duck with spring berry, kaffir-lime yogurt, purple kale, and marcona almond.
