Acme Oysters • NOLA

Acme Oysters is a legendary institution in New Orleans, serving up Cajun-Creole classics like gumbo, Po-boys, and of course the ever-present oysters. And the ACME “10 Napkin Roast Beef”is slow-cooked, served hot & debris-style; you’ll end up using all 10! They have been providing the city with freshest hand-shucked oysters from their French Quarter location since 1910.

Diners have the opportunity to become part of the famed 15 dozen club; consume 15 dozen and your name will be placed on their wall of fame!

Acme supports the Alabama Oyster Shell Recycling Program for the restoration of new oysters and preservation of the eco-system. The char-grilled oysters are everyone’s number one favorite. There’s always a line, but it’s well worth the wait.

* Editor’s Note: Acme is always on my itinerary when visiting NOLA. My favorite? A dozen Chargrilled Oysters – they arrive sizzling, saturated in an herb butter sauce, and topped with a special blend of cheese. Forgo the calories!
