The Franklin reopens • NOLA

Located on the corner of Dauphine Street and Franklin Avenue, The Franklin reopens under the culinary leadership of Executive Chef Dane Harris. Housed in a former corner grocery store, the historic space embraces the eclectic personality of the Marigny neighborhood with an elevated, yet casual, culinary and bar program, a thoughtful art collection, and a spirited staff. In addition to the large 14-seat bar, The Franklin’s interiors showcase a variety of seating vignettes (including an extensive lounge and large high-top tables), a mix of art and textures, and a dark, stylish ambiance.

Contemporary art is at the forefront (curated by local art collector Michael Wilkinson) and rotates often with figurative and abstract pieces from American artists. A portrait by artist Enrique Rottenberg hangs as a focal point in the dining room, housed in a custom lightbox.

Executive Chef Dane Harris taps into a seasonally-inspired gastrobar menu highlighting ingredients from the surrounding region. Expect nightly specials along with staples such as Beef Tartare with Pho Garnishes andmoked Egg YolkDuck Liver Mousse with MostardaCrispy Whole Fish; Pork Schnitzel with Creole Mustard; Four-Veg Monte, & signature Franklin Burger.

The cocktail program features the Martini and its variants (Vesper, Martinez, El Presidente,  Rosita) and is complemented by a secondary focus on inventive riffs (Frank Collins, 3 Little Birds).  A robust wine list and diverse beer selection are also available. Happy Hour specials include the House Martini, Old Fashioned, Tommy’s Margarita, and Lemon Drop.
